Wandering through the forest

I have no idea where I'm going.

Occasionally, I'll see a well trodden path that I hop on for a while. I cover a lot of ground.

I hit some luck and see signs with directions or occasionally bump into people going the same way. We exchange learnings (at this point I take more than I give). We never stay on the same path for long.

I'm on my own journey.

These paths always come to an end, or I ditch them. You can't follow a path if you want to end up somewhere interesting. This means pushing through the forest. When I'm faced with a wall of trees, pull out my axe and cut down trees by hand to keep going.

Brute force. It's hard work. It's slow going.

All this effort because because I have a feeling that there's something on the other side.

Sometimes I'm right. I love that feeling of reaching a clearing. I pitch up my tent, regroup, and plan my next move.

More often than not, I end up at a ravine or cliff. There's no way around; I have to turn around. This especially sucks after toiling for days. It's demotivating but I'll try not to end up here again (I've made that mistake before).

The route only makes sense when I look back. It will never make sense to anybody else, and I'm okay with that.

I don't know the destination, but I'm enjoying the journey.
